Year 13 Trial Exams: Monday 4th - Friday 8th January (Year 12 students taking an official exam in summer 2027 will also complete a trial exam during this 5-day period)

Listed below you will find the dates for official summer 2027 exams for students in years 11-13. Please note that in some subjects additional assessments may take place throughout the academic year – students will be informed of these dates by subject teachers. Occasionally exam boards change their published exam dates - our documents were last updated on 9th October 2026

The Joint Council of Qualifications (JCQ) have stated that for this academic year Wednesday 23rd June 2027 has been designated by the Exam Boards as a ‘contingency day’ for examinations.

This contingency days may be used if there is any disruption to a day of examinations - in this case examinations may be rescheduled. Therefore, students need to make sure they are available on Wednesday 23rd June and should not be away / on holiday.

The JCQ go on to say, if students are not available because they are on holiday and one of their exams is rescheduled to a contingency day, they will not eligible for special consideration by the exam boards. For this reason, the JCQ request all schools inform parents and students of this date so that it can be taken into account when making plans for the summer.

As a school, we hope that the use of the contingency day will not be necessary. However, we feel duty bound to pass on the JCQ information and request that students be available on 23rd June, in case it is required.
