Potential is not about where you are today; it is about where you can go from here. Every student has the capacity to learn, grow, improve and achieve more than they may currently believe possible. Year 11 is an opportunity to build on the progress they have already made, embrace challenges, learn from setbacks and discover what they are truly capable of.

Our aim is for every student to leave Year 11 not only proud of what they have achieved, but with the confidence to recognise that their potential is not fixed — it can be developed through effort, resilience and determination.

Brief PD curriculum

We offer our students a wide range of experiences, both in tutor time and beyond the classroom. Our Personal Development curriculum is designed to strengthen students’ knowledge and understanding of the world outside the classroom, encourage them to become responsible and active citizens, and support their health and well-being. In Year 11, the curriculum is developed to provide age-appropriate support as students prepare for adulthood, with opportunities to explore relationships, careers, citizenship and their own beliefs. These topics are delivered in an appropriate and thoughtful manner, reflecting students’ increasing maturity and helping them to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for life beyond school. This is delivered through our busy tutorial programme, assemblies and Thought for the Week.
